PERU YOGA RETREAT

The Peru Yoga Retreat offers a unique opportunity to connect with Pachamama in the Sacred Valley from September 8th-15th, 2024. Hosted by Jenny and Leigha Brooke, this intimate experience is limited to 12 participants, ensuring a personal and profound journey.

Join us as we take a journey to Willka T’ika, at the heart of Peru’s Sacred Valley of the Incas. Daily yoga, visits to cultural places, and experiences with local shamans will help you connect to the land, your community, and yourself. Our week together will include various practices and rituals, exploring Machu Picchu, a day wandering around in Cusco, time to reflect and rejuvenate in the gardens and majestic land surrounded by the Andes, optional hikes, and so much more.

Discover Unique Stops Along Our Adventure

Every day on this trip is unique, and you will receive a detailed "Day by Day" itinerary. Most mornings will begin early to allow ample time for thorough exploration of our daily destinations. In the afternoons, you'll have the opportunity to rejuvenate and relax, with optional massages, journaling time, relaxation at the retreat center, or leisurely strolls around town.

Sacsayhuman

Embark on a trek above Cusco to uncover the meandering walls and awe-inspiring fortress of Sacsayhuaman, where you'll be introduced to some of the most remarkable megalithic stonework known to the world. Traverse the expansive terrain, including intricately carved boulders and concealed subterranean caves within Qenqo.

Hiking in the Sacred Valley

Pisac, larger in size than Machu Picchu, holds its secrets, having been discovered by the Spanish. Immerse yourself in Pisac during a substantial portion of a day, with an optional hike or van ride to explore vast terraces, preserved water systems, mountainside tombs, and the vibrant craft market in the town below.

Ollantaytambo

The staggeringly steep Inca ruins at the Ollantaytambo Fortress loom over the north side of the town of Ollantaytambo. They are famous for being one of the few places where the Incas defeated Spanish conquerors in a major battle. The town is often referred to as the last living Inca town, as the waterways and cobblestone streets from the Inca time still remain and function today.

Seminario Ceramic Studio

We will have the chance to stay local in Urubamba one day and visit the art studio of Peruvian Legend Pablo Seminario. The Seminario style is based on ancient Peruvian cultures, with a contemporary influence and its own creative expression. Not only will we get a tour of his studio and a chance to purchase local artwork, but we will have the chance to take a tile painting class at the art studio and come home with a handmade Peruvian tile. www.ceramicaseminario.com

Machu Picchu

Dedicate a day to exploring the renowned Machu Picchu, guided by our Peruvian expert. Delve into the central ruins, which encompass a ceremonial center, a sun-dial, operational water channels, and remarkable stonework, all harmoniously integrated with the surrounding high jungle mountains.

The Food!

Peru is renowned for its gourmet cuisine, with Lima's Michelin Star restaurants standing out. Peruvian food is celebrated for meticulous preparation, artistic presentation, and nutritional value, featuring a diverse array of locally sourced vegetables, grains, and fruits, including a rich variety of potatoes, olluco, corn, purple corn, quinoa, amaranth, fava beans, and native berries.

The Accommodations

Each morning, our hotels will serve a wholesome breakfast buffet featuring fresh fruit, juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, granola, eggs, bread, butter, and local berry jams. For our daytime explorations, we'll have convenient box lunches. In Cusco, we'll relish two restaurant meals near Plaza de Armas, savoring local specialties.

Cusco

The first evening of our Peru retreat will be enjoyed in the richly cultural and historically significant city of Cusco. For two days, our lodging will be at a charming, locally owned boutique hotel situated in the artistic neighborhood of San Blas, boasting a splendid vantage point overlooking the city center. During our first day, you'll have the opportunity to leisurely wander and discover the city's historic and cultural heart, all while exploring a substantial archaeological site located just minutes above the city.

Machu Picchu

Our itinerary includes a night's stay in Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes) to serve as our central hub for exploration of the site. Our accommodation will be at a modern and upscale hotel conveniently located near the train station and near the departure point for buses to Machu Picchu. The hotel's attentive staff will ensure your comfort, providing you with a restful night's sleep, a nourishing dinner, and an early breakfast, all to prepare you for two full days of in-depth exploration and marveling at the wonders of Machu Picchu.

Sacred Valley/ Urubamba

During our adventure, we will enjoy a four-night stay at one of the most opulent healing centers nestled in the Sacred Valley. The surroundings are adorned with vibrant flowers, seven chakra gardens, and picturesque trees lining the pathways to our rooms. The welcoming and compassionate staff will ensure you feel right at home, and each evening, we will indulge in delectable farm-to-table organic vegetarian dinners, featuring three-course meals that are both nourishing and light. Additionally, you have the option to pamper yourself with evening spa treatments, including massages, facials, or even a soothing moonlit solar bath beneath the starry night sky.
